The Center for Africa Development and Progress (CADeP) expresses profound sorrow and vehement condemnation over the brutal attacks and sustained killings targeting agrarian and Christian communities in parts of Nigeria.

CADeP noted that the sanctity of human life and the freedom of worship are non-negotiable pillars of civilized coexistence in Africa. Recurring mass displacements, farm burnings, and loss of life threaten not only Nigeria’s internal peace, but the food security and humanitarian stability of the entire West African sub-region.

"The African Union and ECOWAS cannot remain silent while innocent citizens are slaughtered in their homes and places of worship. Regional solidarity requires collective action to stamp out violent extremism."

CADeP calls for proactive military deployments to vulnerable communities, transparent investigations to bring perpetrators and their financial sponsors to justice, and emergency relief for displaced families.
